Guest Lecture on First Aid in Emergencies
A guest lecture was organized by the Department of PG & Ph.D. Studies in Shalyatantra of our Institution on 31st March 2026 on First aid in Emergencies by Dr. Yashaswini S, Senior Resident, Department of Emergency Medicine at JSS Medical College & Hospital, Mysuru.
The primary aim of the lecture was to enhance awareness and practical knowledge among PG scholars, Interns, and faculty regarding first aid management in emergency situations as First aid plays a crucial role in saving lives, preventing complications, and stabilizing patients before definitive medical care is provided.
Madam discussed on the topics of Basic Principles of First Aid: Importance of early intervention, assessment of airway, breathing, and circulation (ABC), Management of Common Emergencies such as Road traffic accidents, Burns and fractures, Bleeding and shock, Poisoning and allergic reactions, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), Handling Trauma Cases and Role of Medical Professionals.
She was cordially felicitated and more than 150 staff and students got benefited from this lecture.
